“When you pluck one person out of what you think is a ghetto,
And plant them to what you call safety,
You aren’t doing them a favor, but yourself.
Cause now, you have one more shoulder to cry on,
When magnificent life gets miserable.
One more soul to hug,
When dusty dreams get new again!”
We are Chhoti Si Asha, a ray of hope to those who are seeking it!
Our objective is simple – to reach out to those on the fringes of our society and give them love and acceptance they have always deserved.
This is our experiment in love, which has grown into an organization which strives to make life happier for the community, one day at a time. In the process, we try to bring together positive changes in the lives of the volunteers who chose to be a part of our family as well.
As a family which is volunteer driven, we are a non-profit organization that works to build sustainable livelihoods for underprivileged children and women in the slums of Chandigarh (India). Founded in 2006, Chhoti Si Asha, operates a livelihood program and library cum educational center in a slum community, Janta Colony.
